-Summary: The main idea of Gerbert is clear and concise; that schools must do better, have better quality of teachers.  The projects to have better schools have to be realizable and essential.  “We should”, he said, “be rigorously studying those schools that appear to be having the biggest positive effect on students achievement, and are those achievement real?” Those Schools have to demonstrate effectiveness or ineffectiveness.  The teachers have to be working one, two or three years before tenure is granted.  The longer school day,(by Professor Kane, Every Ones is An Author, page 91), and much more intervention are good alternative.  The Americans Kids, (I suppose that hear is include North, South and Central America) no just the children of the elite have the right to have good teachers and better schools programs that show achievement in their future job, and life.

-Herber tone for me is authoritative and reasonable because where he said” We SHOULD be rigorously studying those schools THE BIGGEST POSITIVE EFFECTS ON STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT, the only thing that he has add is SHOW ME!  And in his essay hi is always talking about teacher’s quality.

-Herbert establish the importance of this topic in is three first paragraph of his essay, were he ask to a High School Kid, who is the vice president of United States Of America and the kid didn’t know who was!

-I agree with him because we can see too many students that no has the ability to get good job after their graduations, they are showing too much lack of manners, educations, knowledge and to know how to perform in this new era or their life, that they do not feel joyfulness about what they are studying, seem to me like they are doing, not always, or studying WHEREVER how thy use to say.

Taking a position - English 101 (THINK ABOUT the genre, Every One's An Author, pg. 62)

One of the most usual way to take a position is when we go to the market to buy groceries, I always take position to one brand, to buy natural or organic products, because the contamination with substance chemicals to preserved this. A brand that do not have too much salt, too spice.

When you are choosing a movie, and in my case I always look for the actors, I like how they perform more than another’s, kind of movie, classical, romantic, mystery, action, about history.

Another way that I take position is always about animals abuse, I love animal, well, all the nature life that is around myself, dogs, birds, flowers, plants, trees and most the big and old trees, and I always take and I will take the position to preserve, to take care our animals, our world, against the abuse, devastation, contamination of the water, ambient, etc.

In politics and types of governments, democratic, socialist, communist, I always take the side of Democratic government, because not one is perfect but at least in democracy you have right and freedoms to talk, to choose, to write your opinions.

The Big Change of My Life

 In 1977 My husband and I got marry in Caracas, Venezuela, December 8^th to be exactly, and we came to visit Florida how honey moon, but when we were in Sarasota we founded a friend from Venezuela too that was passing a year as student in Sarasota Technical Institute and she enthusiastically us to stay studying, and we change our visa as tourist to Student Visa, therefore we spent almost four years studying in Sarasota, I study Child Care Management Teacher and my husband Diesel Mechanic, I got pregnant of my first baby and my husband had to move to Clearwater to finish his studies and I had for it my baby at Clearwater Hospital in 1981, and we went back to Venezuela after 2 years.

Since we arrived to Venezuela we couldn’t find a good job, the economical situation was very bad, that economical time was called Black Friday, at the same time I couldn’t find a good place to live my babies, because I had the second one three month after we arrived to Venezuela, and for it was difficult to me to work, I worked but not too much as preschool teacher and my husband start to work in Ford Company in a while the company start to lay off staff because did not have budget to pay and the lines of people looking for a job in  all companies were endless, at that time they overthrew the president at the time, Carlos Andres Peres and commanding the insurrection or coup was Hugo Rafael Chávez Frias, because they can not overthrow the government of President Peres was arrested, was later acquitted by the next president, Rafael Caldera and Chávez went to Cuba, in the next election after Caldera, Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías is postulated as a candidate for president offering a revolution and much more he never fulfilled, and the people believing that he will change the situation in the country and he will do a good government and people massively vote for him,

After a few years the Chávez government start to show their intentions to become a dictatorial government, he start to change everything, Constitution, Flag, National Emblem, names of cities, after a while all powers bought with money of all Venezuelans Powers, Electoral Power, Justice, Moral Power, the National Assembly, all it was under his command, there was no opinion nor chance for the opposition could do anything, do not respect constitution, one began to close all private channels, newspapers and radios, closed most of the industries, private factories, laid off all workers Petroleum Company and took all the power on the principal Industry in Venezuela, then he got sick with cancer and decide to went to be treated in Cuba, and he died there but before to died he went to Venezuela and said in a mitting that the person who going to take his place if something happen to him was Nicolas Maduro, and the he died, but now we knew that the Castro’s killed him because he did not want to fallow the Castro’s aspiration to get the Venezuela power, because the oil production, and then after Chavez died, we had a new election and of course Maduros won that’s election because the trap that made with the votes for the Electoral power or National Electoral Ministry of Venezuela is under the command of them; therefore since that time Venezuela entered in a moral, economic and political crisis, is ruined, nothing works, the oil company is ruined and are importing petroleum from other country, the hospitals and schools are a disaster, and the country is almost in war, began by the students because already is known that elections not achieved anything but the government has the power of the weapons that have purchased all the soldiers and armed forces, the most sad of this terrible situation is which is ruling in our country is the Cuban government of Castro brothers, Fidel and Raul Castro, because the traitor and even do not know if it really is Venezuelan, Nicolas Maduro handed the country, and have the Cuban flag in the headquarters of the Venezuelan navy and ports and the nation's airports.

One day my husband started writing against the government of Chavez and the people in favor to the government began speaking to threaten to kill him, and my son had decided to come to their home country, the USA, and he was in Florida, because he wanted to be part of the American Navy, and when he knew what happened decided to do paperwork to claim us and we introduce our papers in the North American Embassy in Caracas Venezuela, we had to wait until they give us the residence to come hear, but my son graduate in Laboratories on San Diego Navy Hospital and he wanted that we enjoy the day of graduation with him, his Chief Commander send to us the invitation with date of graduation and we went to the North American Embassy to ask for permission and tourist visa and they gave us only fifteen days to stayed, for our surprise when we pass by immigration in the Los Angeles Air port the officer sealed the passport permit for six month (6)! And my husband said in this moment that probably we did not come back more to Venezuela because he going to struggle to stay, being in San Diego, the Navy gave the order to my son change of station place, and was sent to the Bremerton Hospital, Bremerton Navy Hospital, and on arrival my husband went to talk to the governor at that time, Norman Dick, well with his assistant, and explained everything that was happening in my country, who had already threatened my husband and so who was supporting us was my son because my husband could not find work because the economic and political situation was worse, so that if we returned it was dangerous and we had to spend the money that we did not have, then they explained the situation to the Department of Immigration and we got permission to stay, work and wait for our residence or green card here in the state of Washington, USA, since that date we are in this country, we achieved our residence, we built our house with the Kitsap Housing Authority Program, we got our Citizen Cheap, so we are very grateful of our New Country United State of America.

We came with our second son and youngest son, all are doing good, studying, working and having a good life with honor, security, rights and constitutional duties, thanks God and United States of America.

  4   Decide what you must change in your behavior to align your life more closely to what you believe.

• Maintaining hard earned good reputation and personal integrity is rewarding and beats starting over from a deficit; but, if you find yourself in a rut -- stop digging -- and climb out of the deepest "mud-hole" onto a firmer footing! Draft of narrative Essay

An infantry officer from the U. S. Army, who's name is Roman Skaskiw, he came from the war of Iraq and Afghanistan.
He start with the question "Are you still in the Army?" asked frequently to him, and was frustrating to answer this, because his contract as infantry officer in March, 2000, his contract specified four years of active service and four years in the inactive reserve (I. R. R.) During graduate school, his answer was simple: "Sort of. I'm still a name on a list." At eight years he has to separate his self from the army, resign his commission and irrevocably separate from the military, the letter said in capitals letters " FOR 545 DAYS UNLESS EXTENDED."
When he returned safely and good from Afghanistan Kunar Province to Iowa City were he start his new life, arrived another letter that read: "SUBJECT:Election of option after fulfilling the Mandatory Military Service Obligation (MSO)," and asked to choose one of four boxes on the enclosed A.H.R.C. Form from 4145, and he start to feel nostalgia for the responsibility and fraternity he ones enjoyed, the letter rained taped to his refrigerator for a full year, he did not know which one option decide and the simple question "Are you still in the Army, " now drew a long-winded, interminable response.
He start to fell lonely because without his uniform and been in the Army he felt lost his identity, he was worried about money and what he had to do next.  The civilian world grew more familiar and comfortable to him, He taught class at the University of Iowa; then he traveled with his mother to her place of her birth near Lviv, Ukraine were her family treated him profusely over vodka, cognac, home made wines, homegrown vegetables, freshly cured cheese and fish from a nearby lake and told him family histories that made his problems look insignificant.
He start to realize that responsibilities is not gone when he they live the military, its is canted by responsibilities to friends, family and self and you can made your life, God is were you are and be successful wherever you are.
After about one year of waiting, he choose the option of his unqualified resignation.

My threes possible topics for my essay.

I may use those tree topics for my essay, one or a) is about my trip to hear and why we came to USA, and then why we are now so far from my Country Venezuela?.
Other, b) may be about dogs, the dogs I had before in my country that bring me to good memories and I will like to share that.
Another topic, c) could be about my Country Venezuela, and my family.
How I will include the five characteristic features.-
  The five Characteristics and questions are:
  1- A clearly identified event: What happened? Who was involved?
  2- Clearly described setting: When and where did it happen?
  3- Vivid, descriptive details: What make the story come alive?
  4- A consistent point of view: Who's telling the story?
  5- A clear point: Why does the story matter?
 
   1- a) In this essay the event, very important event is the trip to this country, all the anecdote or story about our trip, and were involved my husband, and my trees sons; b) My dogs with all their anecdote and were involved all my dogs that I had from my childhood and until we decided to came to live here In U.S.A.; so c) the topic very interesting but difficult and sad for me is talk about my beautiful country Venezuela.
    2- When a) in 2008 more or less and from South America, Venezuela to North America,United Estates.
b) From my childhood, about 6 year old and until almost 61, almost all in Venezuela.
c) May be about description of my country geographical and its people, its resources and some history.
    3- Who made the story make alive will be me, who will be telling all about of three topics.
    4- my point of view and I will be telling the story of the three topics.
    5-why happened all threes? a) we had to came because the political situation and because they start to treat to my husband and for our kids. b) Because for me all my dogs were so important and they give me hard feelings. c) Because Venezuela is a beautiful country and where I born.

I choose the internet news and the conversation and discussions with friend by person to person or live in internet, by Skype or Facebook, or Messenger, or WhatsApp, because in those medios you may see the expression of the face, see with who are you talking about and in internet news you can open any magazine, news paper, any international channel and you can trust any one of them because all of them can share videos, documents, any evidence that is demonstrating the truth of the facts.

      What we share in Facebook and in the table eating dinner or breakfast or lunch is the topic of what is happening in my Home Country Venezuela, we, my husband and me, always talk and share the last we heard in the news by internet, Facebook, tweeter, because in my country do not exist the freedom of expression, all TV channels and private radio was shut and there belong to the illegitimate government of Nicolas Maduro, which is only a puppet of Castro of Cuba, who put him there before they kill Hugo Chavez, because it was the most uncultivated and devil to send and direct.
        InVenezuela there are no human rights ​​in these times and they are killing the opposition and the countries of the United Nations have not taking part in this and have not shown to care about what is happening in our country, Maduro government has no control on its armed bands and thouse are killing opponents.
      This issue is the most important to us right now, we do not care about any more topic or news, because it's hurting us what happening in the country and beyond because we have our family; there have not also good hospitals, medicines, food, water which is contaminated and there is no light most of the time in all parts of the country; moreover who is going against to the governance model that they want to implement in the country they eliminate without any consideration, they are killing our students!, Please we need the International Media to disclose our sad situation!.

What did or didn't match up with the description of effective collaboration in Ch 4?

          








           
        We start to talking a little bit about what we share in the writing we did in class before and how we               did it and were and then they ask to me about were I come from, which is my primary language and               I explained they something about my life and we start to talk about our life and all this conversation               help to us to know each either a this, we were listening carefully  and respectfully to each one of us 
            and one of the thing that matter to me a lot is that didn't care about my age and my bad English,                     the help to me a lot and try to understand very well, they were so nice girls an they show a very good             manners in all the first meeting. We get organizing and one of they offer to be the voluntary to be                   writing all what we going to said about the topic we decided to talk about and then we all copy what             she wrote; also we encourage the free pay of ideas about the topic; moreover we discuss the point               of each one with respect and without be impose we all agree in what to said and what to write                       in our notes.
            For my point of view any thing didn't match with the effective collaboration.

     Different Between Writer and Author

A writer is person who writes a book, article, or any literary piece, while an author is essentially the person who originates the idea, plot, or content of the work being written.

Sometime the writer and the author can be the same person, when you are writing your own thoughts and ideas you are the author and the writer, one example of this is when somebody is writing his life or autobiography.

When you write the ideas from someone else you are the writer, as when somebody is writing biographies you are not the author because the ideas or thoughts from another are being written.

You are the author when you are writing your own ideas, thoughts, like when you write a letter to someone maybe in paper and sent by mail but now in this era most of the time by email and for me more impersonal.

When you are writing a novel or any book from the plot or ideas from somebody else you going to be knowing how a writer of the book but the author is who gave to you the ideas or theme or point of the book that have to be write for you.

Is Everyone and Author?

The definition of Author is the person who writes books as a profession as a noun.

To write; be the author of or originate; create a design for as a verb.

For this definitions I think that everyone can be an author in some moment of the life, I am the author of my life because I am the designer, when I write a letter to my husband, a poem or short phrase communicating something to someone or doing my homework how I am doing right now, I am the author of what I am writing for my English 101 assignment, but a professional author is something else, I never tried to write a novel or any article in a newspaper and less in English, (my first language is Spanish).

Another way in my point of view is when you are talking or doing a locution in from of a public about some specific topic or theme are you expressing your ideas, thinks in your own words you are an author but not a professional one.
